He has (in my opinion) broken through with respect to "the rich and the corporations need to pay their fair share".
That was his message right from the start when he reached national prominence.
At first - people looked at him as an old guy that kept repeating the same thing about the rich and their lack of contributing to the success of this country.
Now finally - after many years - Bernie's message has broken through to the main stream and it is being repeated by most Dem notables, the main stream media talking heads and the people are finally getting the message.
Joe Biden is now taking that message to the People and it is resonating.
I'm looking forward to us evening the playing field - and real soon - where the top 1% and the corporations have to step up and begin paying their fair share.
In my opinion - we have Bernie Sanders to thank for that and we have to thank him for being persistent over these years for continuing delivering the same message and finally having hit heard.
Thank you Bernie!!!!!

I'd argue that Sanders has little to do with Biden's political philosophy and beliefs or the accomplishments of the Democratic Party for that matter.

(44,743 posts)The most important thing is he has hit the same message for years and he made ideas for meeting the needs of people first and the planet main stream with the youth of America. The youth that are the future leaders of our politics, our country and our planet. That does bug a lot of people who fear the young being in charge and changing the status quo. But it's coming.

(35,421 posts)Bernie could go retire and enjoy himself. Why does he keep doing what he's doing? Because he knows there is no one is indefatigable as he. He has worked for these conditions for Americans all his life and now we may be on the verge of success.
Thank you, Bernie, from the bottom of my heart.

(2,485 posts)Its the persistent work of the progressive left including Occupy Wall St., Democracy Now, Noam Chomsky, Thom Hartmann, Elizabeth Warren, and the Squad, among many others that has brought these ideas into the political mainstream, and broken the spell of the zombie neoliberal Washington consensus on American politics. And Bernie Sanders has been central part of that movement.

If people like Sanders or Rev Barber, labor groups have the presidents ear, and POTUS repeats it to the masses, and they repeat it to others , well good IMO
Sanders is out pushing the 3T spending plan and in the Senate Budget Committee, he is still working on the measure to get dental care on Medicare medical plans
Hes always busy for the people
Lets do it . If this time we dont fix stuff in the 20s
America could have the 30s all over again

Bernie has been the steady voice for the appropriate economic and social issues to get us back on track for a very long time, as has my other hero, Elizabeth Warren.
