wondering if they were as pathetic as the DC one.
I was away from news all day.

(13,400 posts)park was this dude walking his dog. I actually could hear him listening to Tucker Carlson on his phone! If he would have been little farther away from his pack, I would have had a little fun with him. I have this recurring fantasy of where Ashley Babbit is and what she's doing he should have heard about.

(86,061 posts)Today I had to pass through a good stretch of SE Idaho on my way back to Montana, a six hour drive normally, and I swear
I normally run the two lane roads but today that was not winning a plan, the damned Spud Festival in Shelly, Idaho was massive, a kazillion times bigger than the clown show in DC. today. They shut down US91 for five damn miles, halfway to Idaho Falls like ten miles up, so I had to detour out to the Interstate.
I tried to skirt around it a couple blocks over but it went on for miles and traffic was insane five blocks out from the event, the parade was so big it was a couple miles long, big shiny semis hauling the floats, all kinds of kids in uniforms and marching bands, candy all over the streets. (In Idaho they throw candy at everybody from the floats, some places in Montana do that too for some reason). There had to be at least 30,000 or more that I could tell. There were more people standing at the corner of one block waiting to cross the street than there were of those insurrection clowns in DC from the pictures I saw.

Yes, the spud festival, it's as big as the state fair, happens every year round this time, I just forgot about it because I haven't lived down that way for close to twenty years. I should have taken a shorter connection to the big road but I wasn't into it, I hate the Interstate highways. We're having region-wide Chinook right now, it's like gale force winds that don't quit, for days, I drove all that way and the wind blew the whole 300 miles. It sounds like a hurricane outside my house, now that I'm back. We have a red flag fire conditions here right now, too.

(53,410 posts)In DC its reported that only about 6 or 700 people attended and that they were outnumbered by the police and reporters.
I hope Trumps feelings are really hurt because if it.

(50,453 posts)About the only rally we had was a handful of people - I counted six - standing at the intersection of US 95 and Prairie Avenue (use Google Maps to see) holding an anti-abortion protest...a strange thing to do in a place as far to the right as this is, AND it was raining for the first time in months...
Even if there would have been one, we wouldn't have put it in Sunday's paper. We had a couple of really cool human interest stories, so we built the front page and all the jumps on Friday.
