Vaccine refusal should by definition be refusal of extraordinary hospital ER/ICU care.

You don’t get to take up an ICU bed, ventilator and respiratory therapists time if you refused to be vaccinated.

No one wants to be heartless or cruel in this pandemic. But who is being heartless and cruel? I suggest that the greatest cruelty is intentionally refusing to come to the aid of your fellow American, your fellow man no matter where they live. If you refuse the vaccine you are potentially condemning others to death when you take up an ICU bed, ventilation equipment and the time of a respiratory therapist.

If you want freedom from science, in this case meaning hospital care, then so be it. Get sick, stay home.

Vaccine refusal should be considered tantamount to a DNR. For those unfamiliar, that’s a DO NOT RESUSCITATE order. That seems harsh, inhuman and extraordinarily cruel, but it may save the life of someone who got vaccinated, wears a mask to protect others and follows the other CDC recommendations for putting an end to this pandemic.

I’m not even sure I agree with what I have just written, but life comes with terrible choices sometimes. Being an American means freedom to be part of a society that hinges on the belief that the well-being of the whole supersedes the individual in certain cases. No one gets to kill others as a form of hobby.

of years of scientific and medical research suddenly demand that science and medicine be employed to all extents necessary to save them when their previous rejection of science and medicine rears up and bites them on the ass.

I, too, am so over these people refusing the vaccine!! They are exhausting our nurses and doctors and running up the cost for those of us that are vaccinated. It is their right to not get the shot but they need to stay home and either get better or die! I say that to any of my very own relatives that refuse. I haven't talk to one yet with a logical reason why they won't get vaccinated! I will not encourage not one more person to take the shot!!🤬

But this means that people with underlying serious diseases will be treated AFTER Covid patients (if at all) on the assumption that they would have a shorter life span because of the underlying disease.

In some places, there's a blanket do not resuscitate order for everyone with poor prognosis.

A preventable tragedy.

And now some health care workers are reported to take their own lives -- just broken by the tragedy of it all.
