Romney -- If We Have To Have Women In The Workplace ----- Wha?!

upon further examination you realize how "demeaning" that statement really is. It sends so many negative messages to women it is not even funny. We can let them off early to wash the clothes, feed the children and her man, and wash the dishes.

There is a marriage "listen to your man" myth out there that a woman should find someone to support her. That she should have a kid right away so she can obligate a man to pay for her and the children. Be a stay at home moms to raise the kids.

Women who buy such a meme are taking a huge risk with a 50% divorce rate. What the churches and the GOP won't tell you is that when the man decides to leave his wife and kids she will be faced with raising the kids on low wage jobs. When I interviewed I had so many women over 40 who were "suddenly single" with no work skills or history. The outlook for them was really bleak. Even if they could get training it might be up to 2 years before they could get a decent job to live on.

The prospects for women will be just terrible under a Romney administration because his statement says stay in the home.
And to top that off the hidden agenda pushed by the churches is to even make divorce illegal and have covenant marriages a woman almost cannot get out of.

The GOP and Romney are so bad on so many levels it is just sickening.

But it obviously isn't. We'll just have to win this war again is all.

The enemy now is the Angry White Man. Thank God they're becoming a minority.

No older women who fought for our rights sees Romney as anything but a gnat. We remember being considered second class citizens. We remember men thinking it was their God given right to grope and lear and put us down at will. We remember a lot of things that younger women never had to deal with because we put a stop to it.

Younger women are now finding their rights being taken away. Rights they believed were innate and natural. The right to choose, to have any career they want, to rise through their intelligence and merits, to have doors standing wide open for them. Now suddenly Republicans who want to lead the country are making women's hard won rights illegal.

We've had this war before. We're not about to just allow assholes to demand we give all our rights back. Fuck them. It isn't going to happen.

I'm 57 years old and I remember when my boss tried to come on to me, and I was so scared I would lose my job, I was frozen. I DREADED coming to work until I could find another job.

NEVER again, will I put up with that shit. NEVER. I fought for every goddamn piece of the pie I've ever had, and I have a daughter and a granddaughter with a stake in the equality of the workplace now.

"If we HAVE to have women in the workplace...." that sorry mother fucker.

"IF" I'm in the workforce? Where the hell have I been for 20+ years of my life? In an alternate universe? Then I realized, no, it's not me - he's the one who is lost in time.

Patronizing ass, indeed.

when you interviewed whom, or what, or where? Are you saying that you interviewed people? Is a word left out?

Is this from the debate? A recent speech?

Please provide a link to what your posting so there's some kind of context.

I remember hearing this and wondering "why" people weren't more upset about it...and this is the only link I could find that will clue you in to the person that began this post.

I hope this helps....it's really gone unnoticied by media and SHOULD NOT GO UNNOTICED.

"Another son came along 18 months later, although we waited four years to have the third, because Mitt was still in school and we had no income except the stock we were chipping away at. We were living on the edge, not entertaining. No, I did not work. Mitt thought it was important for me to stay home with the children, and I was delighted."
