Here's what I don't get about the voter registration dumping in VA

In VA voters don't identify by party when they register to vote so how does someone dumping voter registration forms know whether they're dumping dems or republicans? Maybe it's by place registered- i.e. Universities, urban areas, etc.

Unfortunately, it IS legal to ask party affiliation before offering a form. HopeHoops Oct 2012 #8

The people doing the registration drive were either asking questions to determine who was a Democrat and/or making assumptions based on demographics. I'm sure any they suspected might be Dems went into the "discard" pile.

Hope that little weasel gets himself an independent lawyer before some GOP-funded one convinces him to take the fall in exchange for a post-jail payout. Not holding my breath though...

These are all places that favored Obama in 2008, and would have youth voters heavily in favor of Obama. I wouldn't be surprised if they tossed mainly people with fairly recent birthdates.

For instance, this law student got her registration tossed

And it's possible the operative engaged the students in conversation about who they supported.

registering only republicans? Here's the video:

She was asking people which party or candidate they were supporting.

All repub registration volunteers have to do is ask and then somehow record that on the form, perhaps with some sort of doodle or check mark on the back - something that would identify that voter as a Democrat.

Just my guess.

And then dump EVERY registration form, because that's where you'll find the highest percentage of Obama voters.

It's sick. It's criminal. And if it can be proven there was a concerted effort to do this, it's practically treasonous.

The republicans simply want fewer voters because it increases their odds.

If everyone of voting age exercised that right, republicans would not win many elections. They know this, that is why they do everything possible to thwart voting.

identifying apparel, accessories. Or make a comment like, "I'm really excited to get the President reelected" and the person filling out the form says, "Yeah, me too."

Make a small mark on the form and they know which one's to throw away.

The people collecting the forms are also asking who people plan to vote for.

The thing of only registering people who say they would vote for Romney is too blatant -- when done, it ends up on you-tube, like the Safeway girl.

A sophisticated operation treats everyone the same in the up-front process, and then later trashed the ones the collector identified as from the "wrong" kind of people.

I live about 20 miles from where this happened. They engage people in conversation, observe what the wear, assume JMU students are far more Obama than Romney, so they do all these things to target the registrations to throw away. I sincerely hope they throw the book at these fraudulent reTHUGs!

the woman (now disclosed as a Sproul employee) is doing voter registration outside a store. She sprinkles the conversation with questions of who the voter is likely to vote for. When the person starts getting suspicious and asks for whom the worker is working she is told that it is for a state official (can't remember which one.) She also stated that they were hoping to register Romney voters. (Obviously she didn't say that they would not register other voters, but given the fraud in Virginia and Florida, that seems to be part of the activity.)

Point is, it isn't hard to figure out, based on conversation, how the voter might vote. Just ditch those (or in one case change data on the filled out form to invalidate the form) so that people think they are registered and go to vote, only to find that they can not vote. It is called disenfranchisement, and if it isn't illegal, it should be.
