If he and the evangelical nutjob (different person) who bet me a Bitcoin that Trump would be reinstated by January keep their word, I'm going to start the New Year off well.

There are two ways that could happen. Many more people get vaccinated or vast numbers of the unvaccinated die.

But as bad as Covid is, it just doesn't have all that high a mortality rate, so vast numbers of the unvaccinated are not going to die.

If 100% of the population was vaccinated, then it would become a low-level nuisance for the vaccinated. They will still be extremely well protected from hospitalization and death.

It's possible that the vaccinated might end up the majority of cases in a highly vaccinated society, but the outcome would be such that I don't think people would considerate a pandemic anymore than they consider seasonal flu or colds a pandemic.

That show hospitalization of vaxxed versus unvaxxed? I can only find static reports for different timeframes, which I'm guessing is going to be the case as it takes time to analyze things and make sure the data are right. But I thought I'd check.

That could range from fully dosed and with 2 (or 3?) weeks for the vaccines to take full effect, to "had the first shot yesterday". It could end up making the difference on who wins the bet.
