It could definitely be clearer in the cartoon, but you and another both had the same take, and it makes sense, so maybe that's the intent.

You don’t hear from anyone in the media saying he did the right thing. But if drumpf says something about it they fall all over themselves to report it. So the one “bad” message gets out on top of the pile while hundreds of other fade in the background.

and is the only one that gets reported on. Makes sense. Definitely a good interpretation.

But if that is the intent, the cartoonist could have been a bit clearer.
