The right on Nikki Minaj:"This person said something stupid. Clearly they're on our side!"

Text

It’s pretty wild that anti-vax nonsense is seen as just the default position of “the right.” I don’t know anything about NM’s politics. It’s an extreme own goal to be like, “This person said something stupid. Clearly they’re on our side!”

Maria Bartiromo asks Eric Trump about Nicki Minaj's balls tweet and he characterizes the backlash to it as an example of how "the way the left is treated versus the way the right is treated isn't even comparable right now"

You are going to get criticized, PERIOD.

This is the difference between right wingers and liberals. We will criticize people, even if they share many/most/all of our views, when they say something with the potential to harm others. It doesn't matter if Minaj is the most left wing, philanthropic, etc... person. She said something stupid, with the potential to do real social harm, and people correctly, pointed that out.

I am almost positive that Minaj's politics are A LOT closer to Democratic politics than Republican, but that is irrelevant because liberals do not tend to attack people simply because of who they are, but because of what they do/say/etc...

Right wingers always accuse liberals of "identity politics" when we point out that different groups are treated differently, but they are always quick to whine about how "conservatives" are somehow treated worse. If they are, then it isn't because they are conservative, it's because they say the most stupid shit.
