They have a funeral celebration, they get an inheritance, they are free of an obnoxious relative so they have more room to maneuver.
I keep saying they see the world differently. Make any sense, or no?

The deaths dont matter unless its them or the family breadwinner on the slab.

I think they really don't care about other people, at all.
To me it's an emotional defect, perhaps you could call it stunted/incomplete emotional development, they fail to develop more advanced emotional responses (& concepts) like empathy.
