The media thinks their last trick still works.

Explain to your grandfather that most people use cell phones now and no one can conduct polls on cellphones yet and explain the importance of twitter and the internet and how even the most famous cable news shows have a very small following. And explain the media's need to create a neck to neck race in order to stay relevant.

It'll help him understand that he isn't going crazy.

... unfortunately, that gives a nice cover for some OTHER outfit to pull off a stolen election. Taking advantage of the MSM's presentation of the candidates as being THISCLOSE in the polls, a cabal could hack just enough votes on electronic voting machines to flip a few counties in a few states to swing those states to their candidate, and then -- even though the results don't match exit polls and other forecasts -- it could be claimed that the "surprising" results are still within an acceptable margin of error and people shouldn't worry too much. And many people won't, as long as the MSM is regarded as the only "real" source of news and opinion.

Now... imagine how much easier this becomes if the unscrupulous outfit actually starts owning large chunks of the MSM. Mold opinion; massage expectations; manufacture election results. Joseph Goebbels would be proud.

if it IS stolen, no one will do a darn thing about it. THAT is why they will try to steal it. They KNOW Americans would rather let things 'be' so they can continue on their lives.

Your grandfather is smart, and probably right, but even if 50% of the population thinks that, nothing will change. JMO.

Our basic freedom to have free and open elections with out fear of fraud or reprisals is being challenged by one of our pillars. To see one group infringe the ideas that our republic hold so dear is an outrage that must not go unanswered. I believe the mere thought of this type of treasonist behavior is grounds for Exile!!! Send them all with out their ill gotten gains to the far extremes of the continent. Let the sympathizers carry the luggage.
