The Romney strategy for the next debate?

He is going to be doubly aggressive, in my opinion. I feel that the President is better prepared after the last debate. However, Romney wants a knockout.

Also, since Romney seems to be easily rattled, I think the President could accomplish that with a couple of good come-back lines. In the process, Romney will look foolish and unpresidential.

What is Romney going to say to the President?? He is still going to make his charges about Libya and maybe blame the President for a cover-up in the matter? The President might remind him that this situation is still ongoing and it might be wise to weigh his words a little bit closer?

Of course, he will blame the President for deserting Israel, our only true ally in the Middle East. He will say that the President has failed in supporting the overthrow of Assad in Syria. He will call the President "weak" and ineffective, like Jimmy Carter.

What should the President say in reply?

It's obvious he knows nothing about foreign policy, so my guess is he will have a bug in his ear. Or he's going to keep talking about our economy or our issues instead of foreign policy. We already know what he thinks about Russia.

1. sovereign countries/governments have certain rights, just like we do
2. just because we do not agree or condone, and in fact find their actions barbaric, does not fully justify the use of force - there are political and other actions (can't go into detail due to national security issues) the US can take
3. unless our national security and sovereign territory is directly attacked, asking our military and the American people to sacrifice even more than they have over the last misguided 10 years is unfair and strategically poor judgment
4. If Mr. Romney is so fired up to fight a war, he can send his sons and go himself. He has enough money to finance a small army for a few days.

It might be good to remind voters that chicken hawks seldom go to war and seldom send their sons or daughters. Mr Romney is no exception.

And it most likely will happen, then the President should have a prepared zinger for him.

Maybe something like: "Please pardon me for talking while you are interrupting..."

The con man looked really pathetic and desperate not to mention dishonest in the last debate. I don't buy into the 1st debate cementing his CIC bar being met . . . he looked really, really bad at the town hall debate, he was caught in a lie and looking like he was politicizing a terrible incident for his gain. He could go lower, and probably will, if he continues to do it, and many of those conservative Democrats, or even moderate Republicans, Indies, could decide . . . nah. Either vote for Obama or stay home. I think it's entirely possible for him to sweep the swing states, and then some.

I think the con man is going to overplay his hand . . . he's in that wingnut fantasy fact bubble

at some point in the debate just to completely freak Romney out. Mitt will think that he's walking into a trap and become totally tongue-tied.

Tell him, that he doesn't know what he is talking about. The same as he didn't know what he was talking about before the incident even happened in Libya. That just show you make decisions before thinking it through. I'm all ears, tell us what you want to do about Syria and Iran right now Governor. Do you want to go to War? You can also tell the nation if you want forces back in Iraq?

Let Romney give some solutions and then take him apart. He talks about Iran, hit him on his investments supporting the Iranian Government, just like he hit him on China. he brings up Israel then hit him with the 47 percent tape of what he really feels about the Palestinians. Then knock him out with his visits to England and insulting the Palestinians with his racist comments. Then bring up what he said about Russia. Proceed to hit him about being in a time warp. President Obama should tie in the Comments of former Joint Chiefs of Staffs( Colin Powell) comments about Governor Romney and choosing neocons for his advisers from the Bush Administration. President Obama can even specifically bring up certain names like John Bolton and the General that approved of water boarding. Ask Mitt Romney what he thinks about the people advising him. President Obama can also bring up Bush communications officer doing Iraq. The bottom line, the country will not just be re-electing Bush's former economy Policies, but the Bush Foreign Polices too. The country has a choice, do you want to return to the Bush Policies or go forward by working with our Allies and ending the War in Afghanistan? Mr Romney is just Bush II, maybe even worse.

is that Romney avoided Italy on the European leg of Mitt's Magical Misery Tour because he was involved in shafting Italy through an investment Bain capital made in an Italian telephone-directory company. If I were Obama and was able to bring this up, I would ask, "How are we supposed to have good relations with our European allies when there's at least one country where, if elected, my opponent would be completely unwelcome?"

But here's the thing for which I don't think Romney is prepared: there is a foreign affairs press, and a foreign press, and neither of them are as willing to pass along Mitt Romney's horse-shit without comment as is our own television info-tainment.

Some of them, like the British, await their opportunity to skewer Romney once again, and that will be happily shared among at least as many Americans as it will be among the Brits.

Romney has yet to demonstrate command of the most basic facts of foreign policy, exactly as George W. Bush did not in the 2000 debates.

Thanks to George, I think it matters to a lot more people now than it did then, before they learned that an idiot in charge of foreign policy could tear apart their lives and families.

Rush Limbaugh replaces the moderator, and Romney reads from the latest Jerome Corsi work of fiction?

Edited to add:

Plus, a cross-buy on all the radio stations in swing states with "news-sounding" announcers sounding like official news reporters, reporting on how amazing of a comeback Mitt made, and how PRESIDENTIAL he appeared in doing so ...

Oh, wait ... that added bit already happened after the first debate. Never mind.

This is the only issue the GOP thinks they've got the upper hand on, and they want to milk it for what it's worth. Obama needs to call Romney out yet again 1) for politicizing the attack, 2) for lying about what Obama said about it, and 3) for disrespecting the families of the victims, who have already TOLD Romney to cut it out already on multiple occasions. The last one, with the shame factor so strong, ought to score big with viewers.

Ideally it would be a Herman Cain-type moment of Romnesia, such as forgetting a world leader's name at a crucial moment - but nothing beats experience and Obama has plenty. I hope the questioning is detailed and specific. Man vs Boy when it comes to foreign policy IMO.
