I've noticed a consistent pattern with Romney and Ryan:

Whenever they are asked a question re a "controversial subject", instead of answering the question, they instead TELL A STORY (anecdote) that effectively ignores the question to talk about something else. This is a DELIBERATE, conscious technique known as "politics by anecdote&quot .

I also note that they are almost never confronted by the questioner as to the fact that they didn't answer the question. [In sympathy with reporters, they know damn well that if they were to call Romney or Ryan on their evasions, they would be "granted" no more interviews and this would adversely effect their careers.]

And there is also the fact that most of the "press" is CORPORATE OWNED. If you think a corporate owned press is bad, A CORPORATE OWNED GOVERNMENT IS EVEN WORSE.

Remember when the girl asked, at the debate, about equality of pay for women, and Romney came up with the binders of women story?

That's exactly what he was doing. Of course, it had nothing to do with her question at all. And, it showed that women, too, were commodified in Romney's mind.

These guys have NO respect for American's intelligence.

The first bill I signed was Lilly Ledbetter.

followed by...

We’ve got to enforce the laws, which is what we are doing. And we’ve also got to make sure that in every walk of life, we do not tolerate discrimination. That’s been one of the hallmarks of my administration. I’m going to continue to push on this issue for the next four years.

during the Bush* administration.

A Democrat couldn't get an answer out of any of those neo-cons. I can still see the likes of Condi Rice rambling on about nothing just to run the Dem's clock down.

It still boils my blood pressure.

Whenever someone does that, the only proper response is to accept that they have answered in the worst possible way for them. For example:

"did you accept bribe xyz when you abc?"

"Well, Bob, let me tell you I had an employee who had a dog, and that dog wouldn't stop barking at night so I blah blah blah blah blah."

"The record will reflect the witness answered in the affirmative."

Like that.

at the end of the last debate. Could've sworn that Romney *thought*
that he'd run down Obama's time...It WAS 30 minutes past the hour.
I think he honestly thought he was going to get the last word by default.

What a prick.

It is, I believe, his title? Denoting his standing in his church?

I totally agree with your post, by the way.

Can you imagine a mormon run white house! This is Romney grand plan to a higher status in his temple. This is Romney's castle on earth. Something his money can't personally buy, yet his donors are trying their darnedest!

We can't let him win! It's just so disgusting that he cares nothing about his fellow Americans. Romney's deepest desire is to be king of the land and you can clearly see it in is face, when he speaks and his demeanor! Not to mention I can't even begin to imagine how much more it will cost tax payers to provide security to his GIGANTIC mormon family!
