He is pissed and is taking steps to make sure this is all on their record so they won't be able to get another place, he is also preparing a lawsuit for the back rent and any other money he is out. Why would someone take off like that and take a hit for that large an amount of debt when the government is going to pay the back rent, some day?

(24,376 posts)Now that both sources of revenue are gone, and we may not be able to pay our rent, theres nowhere to turn, as the government rent assistance plan only pays back rent thru the end of Sept, not back rent going forward.

you're not going to get the money from him.
so, you forgive the debt.

can probably work for most any debt such as not paying for work done or not paying for a purchase.
but you would have to document it as a legitimate debt.

(32,626 posts)they should get tax write-offs, debt relief, and subsidies, if they're in a certain income bracket and don't really need it. I wonder how Kushner is going to handle it?

(36,221 posts)Oh, and the banksters will make out okay, too. You know, the ones we bailed out back on '08.
We should have done means testing for landlords, & then paused the loans for those mortgages that qualfied, until the end of the pandemic. The debtor picks up where they left off and how ever many months were paused get tacked onto the end of the loan. The fucking banksters owe We the People. Big time. I'm so angry about how all this was handled, but I don't kid myself that a dem administration, back in 2020, would have suggested this plan, either.
