BUSTED: Steve Bannon admits he helped plot Jan. 6 Trump rally to 'kill Biden presidency in the crib'
David Edwards
September 22, 2021
Conservative broadcaster Steve Bannon admitted on Wednesday that he had plotted with President Donald Trump to "kill the Biden presidency in the crib" ahead of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
During his Warroom broadcast, Bannon played clips of journalist Robert Costa and Bob Woodward explaining how events unfolded prior to the Jan. 6 riot.
"You look at January 5th, we discovered that Steve Bannon, the former White House strategist, was there at the Willard Hotel blocks from the White House with Rudy Giuliani, having an almost war-room-type meeting with other Trump allies the eve before the January 6th insurrection," Costa recently explained to MSNBC. "And Bannon had actually been in close touch with President Trump for days before January 6th. Based on our reporting, he privately told President Trump to have a reckoning on January 6th. And he said to the president, it's time to kill the Biden presidency in the crib."
Bannon seemed proud to confirm that the conversation had taken place.

(714 posts)Well, it's functioning.
It's just not trying to enforce certain laws, the enforcement of which might derail the administration's agenda.
Personally, I'd prefer an administration which can both walk and chew gum at the same time....

(3,469 posts)the later refers to the absolute howling a significant sector of our population would make if some action was actually taken. Bannon and his like are counting on the reaction the folks who follow him would make and the politicians who are afraid of bucking their base.
The actual attempt was clumsy and inept to be sure but the intent is out there for everyone to see. If TFG's side actually had folks who knew how to get things done there probably would have been much more damage. It's like they have a Christ-like wish to sacrifice themselves for a much larger purpose that will spur their followers on to a greater glory.
In some sense I think we're witnessing an attempt to grab power similar to pre-WWII Germany. It's not the same but similar. Thankfully the side that's doing this is completely incompetent. We'll see if the majority of folks reject this approach in 2022 (at the federal level).

(3,340 posts)100% with Biden, but they are making life difficult right now, there should be total unity, most when they don't have real arguments besides the fact that big oil and pharma are poring money on them.

(21,146 posts)to bring charges of sedition against Bannon, Trump, and others who were present for the planning? Bannon's admission includes intent and purpose.
I have been patient, knowing that it takes time to gather evidence and build a solid case. Along with whatever evidence has been collected so far, Bannon's admission makes the case look solid enough to me to take action. But I am not a lawyer or legal expert. Maybe someone who is can explain this further to me.

(38,359 posts)If he planned a riot, then there are ..."laws against planning a riot".
..........Only time will tell if the Justice Department will use those laws to charge him...

(3,340 posts)There are videos, audios, confessions, actions that can be corroborated...so much and so little that we can see is being done.
I am just an eternal optimist, so I still believe the entire bomb is going to explode on all these creeps.

(38,359 posts)FROM THE ABOVE ARTICLE, FROM VERY 1ST PARAGRAPH:
"Five people died either shortly before, during, or following the event: one was shot by Capitol Police, another died of a drug overdose, and three succumbed to natural causes.[17][28] Many people were injured, including 138 police officers. Four officers who responded to the riot died by suicide within seven months.[29]"
