He was old-school R, so while I give him his due, I am honestly not overly surprised he'd say what he did. Knowing how George HW felt/would feel about Trump, I'm pretty sure he feels similarly.
And, I suspect he is fully aware of the threats that would come his way if he speaks out.

(6,543 posts)Trumpers don't care what he says or does, because they believe the whole thing is a lie. Testify, yes. Otherwise, doesn't achieve anything. And frankly, the only thing that entire part of the story is to reinforce what is already in writing, which is that Trupm tried to get Pence to steal the election.It isn't really material to the case.

(43,115 posts)It's already in the public sphere. Pence is doomed on this issue. He admitted he didn't know it would be wrong to the point of polling Republicans. He was spineless or he would have stepped forward and done it no matter what. Quayle is no authority on anything. Can you imagine thinking "I don't know what to do. I'll ask Dan Quayle!"
