There is not a thing that's going to change their minds at this point.

We are NEVER going to achieve herd immunity. I realize it's not easy to accept that reality, but it's where we are.

Same can be said about gun violence in America. It is going to be with us going forward. Again, not easy to accept, but reality nonetheless. Reality does not care about how strongly we feel, or how sad dying from Covid or by gunshot, makes us.
