how do deal with the debt ceiling

ignore it. bust right thru it. the spending has already been authorized. make the GOP try and sue to cause a default and economic chaos. and even then the courts would need the executive branch to enforce any court order.

the GOP wants to try and crash the system. let them be the one who have to tell their constituents that they tried to destroy the economy....

thats how they do it now. if for example the government needs 10b the treasury just issues 10b in debt. the funds DO magically appear.
if the treasury which is part of the executive branch were to issue new debt over the debt ceiling congress could tru and get a court order to block it but it would be up to the executive branch to enforce the order. if the executive branch refuses the courts have no actuall way to enforce it

That's what the debt ceiling is... a limit on the amount of debt that they can issue.

if the treasury which is part of the executive branch were to issue new debt over the debt ceiling congress could tru and get a court order to block it but it would be up to the executive branch to enforce the order.

You're kidding, right? You're really saying "just break the law"?

defaulting on the debt would cause an economic catastrophe on the scale of teh great depression. it would rival the civil war in the damage it would do. The GOP has shown they dont care about the country at all,all the care about is power. in extreme times extreme actions are called for.

just ignore the debt ceiling. issue new debt to pay for spending already authorized.
