Elizabeth Warren to Republicans: 'Are you kidding me on the debt ceiling?'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) did not hold back in her criticism of GOP reticence toward helping Democrats' raise the nation's debt limit, arguring, as many have, that the left cooperated with their counterparts when the same issue arose during the Trump administration.

"I do believe it's time to call the Republicans out over this," Warren told MSNBC. "Are you kidding me on the debt ceiling? When Donald Trump was president and needed to raise the debt ceiling over and over, Democrats said 'yep, we get it.'" Warren then went on to insist, once again, as many have, that a debt limit increase is a reflection of past spending — not future.

"The Republicans want to turn around and play political games with that? They want to threaten to blow up our entire economy and actually the world economy over that?" On Tuesday, a Moody's Analytics report predicted a default on the debt ceiling could throw the American economy into an immediate recession comparable to that of 2008, including the loss of 6 million jobs, among other heart-stopping statistics.

"Where I am right now is to call out the Republicans who are saying that they are going to behave so irresponsibly as not to vote to increase the debt limit."

Finally get it mind around what it is dealing with in the current GOP?

For 21 years now the GOP has wrought 1 disaster after another on America with zero consequences for them. 9/11, 2 wars, torture of humans, catastrophic response to a hurricane, global economic collapse. They did all this and President Obama came in to office cleaned up all the mess and did not hold one person accountable for anything and they have managed to still get a majority, still be a relevant political party the MSM flocks to.

Jump ahead to 2016 and the GOP gives America Trump knowing full well he is unfit and unqualified and a criminal but DT will give the GOP tax cuts and Supreme Court judges that will ax Roe v Wade. Here we are 5yrs later…with 700,000+ Americans dead, a real actual attempted coup. $8trillion more in debt. A severally divided country and still not 1 republican has had to face any discomfort let alone accountability for anything.

The GOP wants the power, wants to be in control. They are literally killing their voters right now to make President Biden look bad on the Pandemic. One of the 1st things trump did was shut down the government. They don’t care about shutting it down again…they are not going to suffer.

Wake up Dems. The GOP will gladly pull the temple roof down on our heads if it make President Biden look bad.

For one - there is no way I am going to live in a region that would allow Y'all Queda access to a nuclear arsenal. In all seriousness, the current government is broken beyond repair. The will of the people is no longer reflected in the composition and conduct of the seated membership, nor is the Supreme Court anything more than a craven den of political hacks and tribalist freaks. The whole damn thing - from SCOTUS to voting rights to filibusters and more - is a rotting corpse of a once great idea. The broken government gives us a model for reform, but first, Americans who wish to be more Dominican Republic than Haiti need to accept the fact that we have 40% of the population that need to be sent to bed with no dinner and then put up for adoption...once Canada and Mexico recoil in horror from them, it will be time to rid ourselves of any bonds of citizenship, allegiance or responsibility for these cretins.

Oh, and we get to keep the Stars and Stripes, they already have a flag in waiting - go back to the damn Stars and Bars of the Confederacy assholes, and do not EVER seek assistance from the United States of America again. Oh...there will be walls alright - physical and metaphorical, but the people who wish to continue the American experiment of a democratic republic with secular self-rule will be building them to isolate and rid ourselves of the pestilence that is the current GOP, MAGAts and their orange leper king...

I have no use for any of them - not even as laborers in the fields...give them Montana, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming - the dusty useless scrub land of Texas and Oklahoma, the entirety of the Southern states and move anyone who does not wish to live as citizens of the United States (est. 1776 version, with an amended Constitution and reformed federal government and military) is welcome to kindly piss off.
