Did you ever think Dan Quayle would play such a prominent role in saving our Republic?

We are discovering from the new book that VP Pence was looking to Dan Quayle for advice on whether he could help Trump steal an election? From the reports we have read, VP Pence was torn about what he should do?

Pence was subjugated to extreme pressure from Donald Trump and his lawyers. He was presented with a 6-point plan on how they could credibly give the election to Donald Trump and keep Joe Biden, the legitimate winner, out of the White House.

Quayle informed Pence that was something that he did not have the authority to do. He should just forget about it. His only duty was to count the votes.

It is shocking to think that our country came so close to a coup, except for the input of former ridiculed VP, Dan Quayle.

That is absolutely the most horrifying statement I've ever read.

If you're looking for a confirmation of the US entering a dark age. There be it.

Never in my wildest dreams did I picture him being instrumental--or even called upon-- in stopping such an immediate threat to democracy.

But, I know he respected his late boss, and thus it would be hard for me to picture him as anything other than anti-Trump-- as nearly all the Bushes are. (and to those who reflexively meet even the most generic, yet non-negative comment about any Bush with intense rage, I've not changed my mind on the bigger picture, but only differentiating them from Trump and Trumpsters).

And if they had done it, I don't think anyone would have stopped them. The media would have been outraged for a few weeks, but then fallen into "both sides have a point."
