... The Senate Medical Affairs subcommittee heard Wednesday from several doctors, including two from out-of-state, promoting the use of ivermectin ...

Although the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control indicates on its website that ivermectin is not an evidence-based treatment for COVID-19, the agency can’t stop providers from prescribing it or punish them for doing so, said Dr. Edward Simmer, the department’s director ...

Last week, lawmakers heard from members of the public about their own experiences trying to secure coronavirus care for themselves and their families. Some said doctors ignored their pleas for ivermectin or other alternative treatments ...

South Carolina is still reporting more than 3,000 new cases daily ...

“If I told you we had a drug that 70% of the time would prevent COVID and almost always prevent death from COVID unless you had other underlying conditions, I think we’d jump all over that, wouldn’t we?” said Dr. Anne Cook, an internal medicine physician and president of the state Board of Medical Examiners. “That’s what the vaccine is.”

There's an old adage/joke about a person's measure of laziness being how much effort they'll expend to avoid doing work. It's astonishing the amount of effort people will expend casting about for rationalizations and justifications to avoid a safe, effective, and FREE vaccine.

Years from now, I can see people studying the pandemic response in the United States: "So, they had three vaccines available late in 2020, and by March 2021, everyone age 13 and above could get vaccinated against this terrible virus that could permanently incapacitate you or even kill you. And you're telling me infection rates and mortality went UP? Was the whole damn country eating paint chips, or what?"
