The spike she is showing is the year 2020 when her hero was president. What an idiot.

(3,433 posts)We need the stop acting like their propaganda and lies is the act of ingorant goofs. It's deliberate, unapologetic lies. And it works. Mocking them for being stupid makes them look helpless and us look helpless too.

(13,507 posts)in my area of the Midwest started going up after trump became president. One of our lowest rates was when Obama was in office.

(2,114 posts)I mean, that's her track record. Tell a lie a lot and the RepubliQan zombie corps will lap it up without a thought. Without a thought at all. RepubliQons have lowered themselves to become sponges sopping up rivers of toxic bullshit.

(82,849 posts)You expect her to remember every little insignificant detail from the distant past like [checks notes] the year 2020? Who could possibly remember who was president that long ago? We can argue all day long about who was president when, but the fact of the matter is that Joe Biden is president now (please don't tell the former guy I said that, he'd be hopping mad), and now is when Kayleigh saw that chart in the fake New York Times, which ordinarily you shouldn't trust, but Kayleigh wants to make a point.

(16,397 posts)It could go either way, I think. As some have pointed out, Ms. "I will never lie to you" has a proven track record of serious, boldface lying, and she's definitely moral enough to lie deliberately when it suits her malicious purposes. However...
As others have pointed out, she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I could easily see her pouncing gleefully on that Lachlan Markay tweet and retweeting it without stopping to think about which year the one with the big spike actually was. If she'd bothered to even glance at the NY Times article, that wouldn't have happened, but of course she wouldn't take the time to do that.
If it was a deliberate lie, it was certainly a stupid one. All she accomplished was to draw attention to a statistic that makes her Dear Leader look really, really bad AND tie the information in that chart to him in a way that the original source does not.
Sure, she deleted the tweet, but not before tons of people saw it and passed it along to others. TFG's cult members will probably have taken it at face value and believed it, but most people won't. And all those of us who have seen it and understood what it really means now have that chart etched in our brains in a way that it wouldn't have been otherwise.
My verdict: KM's tweet was definitely an act of stupidity. If the lying was deliberate, it was a very, very stupid lie that did not have the intended effect and left her with a large amount of egg on her face. Win/win for our side either way.
