FRANKLIN COUNTY - Over the past few days, rumors have been circulating of reported credit card purchases in Southern Illinois linked to the Gabby Petitio homicide investigation.
WFCN News was made aware on Monday of two seperate reports from gas station employees in Benton, IL that FBI agents were reportedly requesting security camera footage in relation to the investigation.
The reports indicate that Petito's boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, may have used at least one card to purchase gasoline at station(s) in Benton on August 31, 2021.
At this time, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has yet to confirm if Laundrie made any stops between Wyoming and Florida, and is not confirming or denying these reports.
