ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - State health leaders say more people are taking Ivermectin to treat COVID-19. In some cases, it's been deadly.

The New Mexico Department of Health said two people in New Mexico have died from Ivermectin toxicity. Not much is known about either patient -- but one of them was battling a severe case of COVID-19.

"It's a serious issue, we need to watch it,” said Dr. David Scrase, NMDOH acting secretary.

New Mexico health leaders are sounding the alarm on Ivermectin. Poison control said there have been 20 exposures to the drug this year alone – already double the usual amount.

The local GOP congresser blithely says the more scam meds the better:

I got into a discussion with one of those "I do my own research" types, and he kept insisting that this drug had won its inventor a Nobel Prize and so there.

I said, well, penicillin won a Nobel Prize too, but I wouldn't use it for a broken leg.
Much sneering, where's your MD, etc.
Like, you know, that FB account he got his "research" from is Johns Hopkins.

But they are entranced with this-- it does make me think that if some FBer said, "Trump was right! Clorox!" he'd run off and chug that down.

Another told me that 10 times as many people have died of the vaccine in 6 months as of the disease in 2 years. I pointed out that would be 6 million Americans in 6 months, and we'd probably notice that. No answer.
They're really useless to talk to. For some reason, they WANT to believe the stupidest lies. Some will die to believe that lie. Nothing we can do. We're going to have to just let them go and focus on the willing.
