Something is beyond fishy here!

Evidence is piling up that Jason Miller organized a caravan of Haitian migrants from Brazil to create the "border crisis" that the GOP is talking about. Wouldn't it have been easier to just do something about the border issues while they could?

?s=20

How did 15,000 Hati refugees all end up at the same remote border location in Texas at the same time? 400 miles and at least a 7 hour drive from the coast. That's no accident or coincidence.

?s=20

Jason Miller on 9/7 met with Brazil's President and was held at airport because government believes he is planning insurrection. Most Haitians migrated to Brazil....by the end of month, 12,000 Haitians are at Texas border. Doing favors for Trump & getting favors in return?

@TheRickWilson
I don't know if Jason Miller somehow inspired the Hatian refugees to flow up from Brazil...but a friend writes they "arrived at the TX border via the No Me Chin trail."

I will ALLOW it.

They may feel they have enough momentum and leverage at this point to go ahead and get rid of real democracy and set up a Putinesque kleptocracy. No more fear of losing elections. Privatize and take control of government assets. No more burdensome taxes to support welfare queens in Cadillacs. No more black and brown immigrants (unless needed to do the work, i.e. slaves). Just lean back in their p̶l̶a̶n̶t̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶h̶o̶u̶s̶e̶s̶ mansions and sip a little bourbon while counting all the u̶n̶e̶a̶r̶n̶e̶d̶ cash they know is their birthright. pushing for. That's a picture of what I meant when I said that they they are destroying the country on order to rule (not save) it. THEY say their goal is to save the country. I say their goal is to rule it, in the way you just described.

The battle for control of the Republican Party today is not a fight between patriotic, though conservative, Republicans vs. the rogue Trumpists. It is a battle between grifters for which crime organization will profit from ruling the country.

In order to "rule" a democracy, you must first destroy or abuse and distort the democratic institutions and values.

Trumpists are more transparent (to all but their followers) in destroying democratic institutions. The Cheney/Bush/Wilson wing of the Republican party is just as destructive but less transparent. They keep the institutions but distort and use them.

bolsanaro credited the ‘brazillian limbaugh’ for his election and ‘success’ and that blowhard, Carvalho, — lives and broadcasts from virginia, and a search will find various pictures of carvalho and bannon.

RW media, with radio in those countries (including fox which broadcasts internationally), tells these refugees that the new dem president — obama or biden — wants them to come to the border, has opened the border, doesn’t want to stop invading refugees, will give them free stuff and great jobs, and then rw blowhards scream in this country we’re being invaded by people in caravans with ebola, covid, so they can vote illegally for dems (replacement theory) and we need walls etc.

they’re using rw talk radio in india, brazil, probably mexico and other countries

people can call shows from the kremlin….. for global warming and covid denial, anti-immigration bullshit etc. it’s like voice of america in reverse now. voice of Putin.

we will never be able to have a fact-basedd national discussion on immigration as long as democrat and the ‘left’ ignore rw radio

there’s a reason this scumbag bannon knows this other lying scumbag

The Brazilian government made humanitarian visas available to Haitians, and there was significant demand for construction workers leading up to the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Once those jobs started to dry up, many Haitians moved on to Chile, Bolter said.

The Associated Press reported that about 150,000 Haitians went to Chile from 2014 to 2018 and found work as street vendors, janitors and construction workers.

However, since 2018, the Chilean government has made it more difficult for Haitians to get work visas.

"The cost of living in Chile is high, so it can be particularly difficult to get by with a poorly paying job," Bolter said. "Many Haitians experience racial discrimination in jobs and housing in Chile as well. Haitians who stayed in Brazil have continued to struggle economically, and have also faced racial discrimination, as well as crime and insecurity."

snip

Many Haitians who traveled from Chile will now pass through Houston

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/immigration/article/How-Chile-s-treatment-of-Haitian-migrants-16474511.php

Thousands of Haitian migrants are waiting under the international bridge in Del Rio, with hopes they’ll be granted entry in the United States where they can seek a more safe and prosperous life.

But the federal government has been moving large numbers of those arriving at the border to other locations to be processed and flying many back to Haiti. Several dozen arrived in Houston on buses Monday night and Tuesday and are staying at a shelter owned by the National Association of Christian Churches and being operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Most will stay no longer than 24 hours at the shelter, which is a transfer center. Officials said 2,000 to 3,000 more are expected to pass through the shelter in the next week or so.

Though recent unrest has caused the exodus of some Haitians from their homes, many Haitians arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border are coming after having lived in South America, especially Chile.

Surely that many Haitians would require (a) a flotilla to get to the nearest continental landmass and (b) a caravan to get to the border. Faux "sees" caravans of scary brown people streaming through Mexico on a routine basis. You'd have to think they could have given their audience a heads-up. Unless they were in on the scheme. Not of course that I'm sarcastically saying that would be in character or anything, it's just the caravan-of-scary-brown-people-streaming-through-Mexico division of Faux seems to have egregiously missed an actual mass movement towards the border, and with their reputation on the line clearly need to fire the entire division and maybe hire Ted Cruz to stare across the Rio Grande and imagine cartels are staring back or something

It's like, "Too much border patrol at Laredo and Rio Grande Valley, let's go to Eagle Pass or Del Rio"..

It's a bit like getting in a shorter line at the grocery store.

Now if you want obscure, go to the Boquillas crossing

Park at the Boquillas Crossing parking lot near Boquillas Canyon. After passing through the port of entry visitors are ferried across the Rio Grande on a small rowboat for a modest fee ($5 round-trip). Walking across the river is permitted only at the Boquillas Crossing, but is not recommended if the river level is high.

Once across the river visitors have the option of walking to the village (1/2 mile) or paying an additional fee to ride on a burro, horse, or in a vehicle. Local guides are available. Visitors are required to check in with Mexican immigration officials upon arrival in Boquillas, and pay a small entrance fee ($3) to the Mexican Protected Area that Boquillas is situated in. A small wrist bracelet is your receipt for the entrance fee. Visitors planning to stay overnight in Mexico will need to apply for a temporary visa. Secure overnight parking at the Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry may be available.

Whether Jason Miller was personally involved is an open question I'd like an answer to. It is much the sort of thing Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon would have cooked up if they could. Very Ollie North it is.

Having seen up close and personal the 7 kinds of creepy crap the GOP got up to during my 36 years in North Carolina I have little doubt they played a part in this. This is exactly the kind of thing some of them have done in the past. They will play to win by the cruelest methods they can think of in order to humiliate and frighten anyone who would resist them.

I'm not buying it. He's neither that smart, no that strategic.

There are also thousands of Mexicans at the border. Do they also need to be interviewed?

It's newsworthy. The people trying to come to the US, the process etc

Most people know absolutely nothing about immigration issues

..unless there's an election coming up

The person in the article got directions from his brother. No reference to a plot by Bolsinaro or Republicans.

Maybe after this week’s Twitter telephone of the whippings that weren’t, people could chill about spreading things without checking them out?

There are still people on this board and tv talking about how refugees were whipped when the photographer himself said nothing of the sort happened.

When will we learn Twitter isn’t a source, just because we like what it’s saying?
