Republican fraudit and lawsuit ploys provide a cheap engine for the big lie technique
Republicans don't really believe that the fraudit is legitimate or that the election lawsuits were anything but frivolous. They use the trappings of legitimate processes like audits and lawsuits as media engines to keep their lies automatically repeated, fresh, and relevant in people's heads. Unfortunately, the more people hear something, the more credibility they give it, whether that something is true or not. The audits and lawsuits by Republicans exploit that vulnerability.
The AZ fraudit and lawsuits arguably succeeded at what Republicans were trying to accomplish. They mugged the truth and the democracy repeatedly and at low cost on the basis of appeals to suspicion that they themselves generated. Losing is winning in this con. The expected likely downside was still an upside over all. Hopefully we don't let them get away with it.
