By DAVID MATTHEWS
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS | SEP 21, 2021 AT 1:22 PM ... Natalie Rise, a 46-year-old mother of 10-year-old twins with special needs, died Aug. 22 in Coeur d’Alene, which is still seeing a surge in cases as the entire state has become overwhelmed. A day later, the Food and Drug Administration gave its full approval to Pfizer vaccine, the same day Daryl Rise said he got his first jab. “I got it out of fear,” he said. The Idaho man said his mother, who is recovering and out of her coma, has not decided on whether to get vaccinated ... https://www.nydailynews.com/coronavirus/ny-covid-idaho-nurse-refused-vaccine-dies-family-20210921-id37idxpszhwhnaohgc7u6ccly-story.html |

3. State may fight Biden vaccine mandate
September 16, 2021 1:07 AM
Gov. Brad Little wrote Wednesday that the state of Idaho is exploring legal action to stop President Joe Biden’s “unprecedented government overreach into the private sector with his new COVID-19 plan” ... Biden said last week that he instructed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to draft rules mandating that all employers with more than 100 workers require them to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly ... Little continues to urge Idahoans to choose to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and take steps to protect themselves and others from the virus “so our kids can stay in school and for the continued health and prosperity of the people of Idaho.” https://cdapress.com/news/2021/sep/16/little-state-fight-biden-vaccine-mandate/ |

5. Hospitals in crisis mode
By NATE HEGYI • SEP 20, 2021
... Crosby’s elderly relative was showing stroke-like symptoms. He was eventually airlifted to North Idaho’s biggest hospital… Kootenai Health in Coeur D’Alene. He needed intensive care. But when he got there... “There were no beds available in the ICU. It was totally filled with COVID patients, certainly almost all unvaccinated.” Crosby says his brother-in-law had to wait in the emergency room for two days before an ICU bed opened up. He survived but overcrowding is a problem in a growing number of hospitals across the West. ... https://www.kpcw.org/post/hospitals-crisis-mode-care-being-rationed-throughout-region#stream/0 |

8. I saw a good idea in "The Nation," Sept. 20-27 issue. Also funny!
Page 10 has a good cartoon by Jen Sorensen, called "Horse Sense for Pandemics." The cartoon suggests ways that the MAGA people might be gradually led to accept masks and shots, through their interest in barnyard animals.

9. Wow, there's actually 2 intelligent people in Couer d'Alene...
I'm shocked, shocked I say.
We're in Pocatello right now and were just in a WINCO here in town. As a rough guess my wife & I would say only 30-40% masked. We just left Washington state and their mask rates are 80% and above. What is the difference, you ask? What are the death rates in the two states, you ask? Why the disparity, you ask? Look at the political party of the Governors. ![]() |

11. A neighbor of ours who works as an NFL publicist
was turned down a very high paying job because he refused the vaccine. He went ahead with it but then 48 hours before the event they told him that he couldn’t work it because his vaccination was not within the specified time schedule.
He threw a giant fit, called NFL, etc, because he didn’t want to take it in the first place. Quite possibly saved his life but there he was throwing a tantrum. Boo hoo. |
