One must be very cautious when near a mad animal. They are not predictable.
They have no restraint. They lunge blindly.

Ive seen videos of a mad dog doing the same thing just recently. Hes done it before as I remember.

We had a dog running around attacking other pets and children for months before someone finally got him shut up in a garage. It took 4 control officers with pole leashes to get that dog into a crate for transport. I can't even imagine how they got him out. I felt so bad for the little guy.
I think about that sometimes when watching the state of politics lately. Some of these have to be stopped from making life difficult and dangerous for everyone else, but it is not fun to watch.
The net of all this is that when we are dealing with moderately to severely aggressive dogs, there are really only two good options: behavior modification and euthanasia. Of course euthanasia should be reserved for the most severe cases (especially human directed aggression) and only as a last resort.
