I decided to finally delete my Facebook account after I was notified that someone had logged in from Manila - I have never been anywhere near the Philippines.

People like Henry Ford, who made a conscious decision to pay his workers well so that they could afford to buy his cars. I saw a documentary on poverty where a business owner was so "proud" of himself for allowing his workers to use his bathroom facilities after hours. He paid them so little that many slept in their cars. He was proud that he "allowed" them to park on his lot overnight. Unbelievable!

They know full well that their profit is based completely on the misery of others. And they're totally fine with that.

That's either a huge sum of money (to most people) or a piddling amount (to him)--the cost of a family's future.

Thank you for posting that, and welcome to DU!

more long term damage to the US than any terrorist attack ever could. It sounds to me like these people hate America more than Al Qaeda does.

Making money is just soooooooo much more important than caring about the future of our country. They feel that they owe no loyalty to the country that made them prosper

I've reminded a couple of people that rmoney reminds me of Jason Alexander's (and Gere's before he "reformed&quot character in the movie. A greedy snake in the grass.

In fact, I used Pretty Woman to explain Romney and Bain to my totally-not-political Mom. It worked - she hated Alexander's character in the movie so much she could never watch Seinfeld, and now hates Romney even more!

16. Romney: pay below-Chinese wages and jobs will come back to America

Nobody else seems to have caught it, but I could swear I heard Romney in the debate say that to bring jobs back from China, we simply need to make American wages competitive. Reduce our wages below Chinese wages and the jobs will return. It's market-driven!

Can that great a wage reduction really be his goal? Reducing American wages to be less than Chinese wages may not set well with some people.

18. Romney's exact statement.

CROWLEY: I want to ask Carol Goldberg to stand up, because she gets to a question that both these men have been passionate about. It's for Governor Romney.

QUESTION: The outsourcing of American jobs overseas has taken a toll on our economy. What plans do you have to put back and keep jobs here in the United States?

ROMNEY: Boy, great question and important question, because you're absolutely right. The place where we've seen manufacturing go has been China. China is now the largest manufacturer in the world. It used to be the United States of America. A lot of good people have lost jobs. A half a million manufacturing jobs have been lost in the last four years. That's total over the last four years.

One of the reasons for that is that people think it's more attractive in some cases to go offshore than to stay here. We have made it less attractive for enterprises to stay here than to go offshore from time to time. What I will do as president is make sure it's more attractive to come to America again.

This is the way we're going to create jobs in this country.

With no healthcare, no access to hospitals, no rights to clean water or air, no education for our children, no access to the justice system when we are maimed and killed by the powerful, no sustainment in our old age and no right to vote.

This is what Bain would make of us, if they could. This is, in their own words, what they prefer.
