We know that he wrote the plan to steal the election from Biden for Tr**p. I want to know how he came to write that plan? Was it under a request from Tr**p? Somebody else? Who gave him the orders to detail this plan? What discussions were had regarding the plan as they discussed it? How it was presented to Pence? I got to think that a lot of people that worked in the WH at that time and others in the Repug Party - were involved.
There was a conspiracy to take over the government. It appears that a lot of people might have been involved and have the knowledge of this conspiracy. Why aren't we going after this guy who seems a key player in this conspiracy who might be the key person to identify all the players?

(115,673 posts)and attorney work product, which will probably fail but not after being litigated, and that will take time. It makes sense to pick the low-hanging fruit first and follow whatever leads they get from those witnesses, then go after Eastman. What they have already - his memo - is a good place to start. They can subpoena the recipients of the memo before they get to Eastman.

(115,673 posts)And who will he claim to have been the client? My point was that he'll throw all kinds of crap at the wall to avoid having to testify. That's what they do.

(115,673 posts)who represented TFG personally in a motion to intervene in Texas v. Pennsylvania, a case filed directly in the U.S. Supreme Court by Texas attorney general, in which Texas tried unsuccessfully to annul the voting processes and, by extension, the electoral college results of at least four other states. On that basis TFG, to whom the privilege, if any, actually belongs will certainly claim attorney-client privilege. However, that is sure to fail because the privilege doesn't apply where others who are not clients are present when the lawyer is offering the allegedly privileged advice. On January 2, 2021, Eastman reportedly participated in a Zoom call that Trump joined in which legislators from Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin talked about allegations of voter fraud. On January 5, 2021, Eastman met with Vice President Mike Pence in the Oval Office to argue incorrectly that the vice president has the constitutional authority to alter or otherwise change electoral votes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_C._Eastman So, unless all those parties claim Eastman was representing them, too, those conversations were not privileged.

(7,430 posts)a conspiracy charge to foment and insurrection. You can bet your breakfast that Eastman's documents are on the front burner as the evidentiary lynchpin for Trump's attempted coup. He's dead in the water and is looking at his bank account to assess whether he can afford the team of attorneys he'll need to manage his pending prosecution. It can't be more clear.
