Get the Greens and Libertarians and even next largest party after that (or two) to agree on some questions.
They would likely not be the softballs and turds the MSM comes up with.
I know this would never fly with the commission on presidential debates, which is set up to limit the participants and the questions to what the beltway elite is comfortable with, but it would be worth it to see the top candidates get such an invitation, and have to explain why they refuse it.

(3,333 posts)No way I want a Constitution Party candidate or a Libertarian candidate to moderate a debate, they're nuttier than Republicans!

(10,893 posts)but IDK about the Libertarians. I'll give them credit for at least opposing the Drug War and the Patriot Act, unlike the GOP.

(39,405 posts)and like the Bush presidency for the corruption of our government in general, curtain would be torn away that could never be put back in place.
A large part of lefty disappointment with Obama was we saw how muscular the presidency can be on behalf of the wealthy few, checks and balances be damned.
That makes any excuses about not having a supermajority or anything else fall flat.
Do something and dare congress to undo if it's popular. Bush did that with UNpopular shit for christ's sake!
