Arizona GOP Chair Calls For New Audit After Biden Confirmed Winner Again

The leader of Arizona's Republican party has called for a new "full signature audit" after the results of a controversial GOP-backed audit of the 2020 president election confirmed that President Joe Biden won the state.

Results of the audit, which was led by a group called "Cyber Ninjas," were released on Friday and found that Biden defeated former President Donald Trump by slightly more votes than the official count. Although the review was the third audit of Arizona results, none of which cast any reasonable doubt on Biden's win, Arizona GOP Chair Dr. Kelli Ward took to Twitter to call for another audit while insisting that Friday's results indicated "possible malfeasance."

The "Dr. Shiva" that Ward is referring to is Shiva Ayyadurai, an election fraud and COVID-19 conspiracy theorist that the Republican-controlled state Senate hired as an "expert" for the audit. Ayyadurai also claims that he invented email in the late 1970s, although the service was already active as part of the U.S. government's ARPANET in the early 1970s.

Maricopa Republicans Call on Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward to Resign Over Election 'Lies'

Several Maricopa County Republican leaders have called on Arizona's GOP Chair Kelli Ward to resign, slamming her for promoting election "lies" after the controversial Cyber Ninjas audit of the county's results reaffirmed President Joe Biden's victory over former President Donald Trump.

Arizona Senate Republicans contracted Florida-based Cyber Ninjas in the spring to audit Maricopa County's election results due to Trump's groundless claims of widespread fraud. The audit was widely mocked and criticized, including by many Republican officials in the county. In the end, the full recount showed a minor net gain in votes for Biden and less votes for Trump.

In a Friday interview with KTAR News' The Mike Broomhead Show, Maricopa County Supervisor Clint Hickman, a Republican, urged Arizona's GOP Governor Doug Ducey as well as Treasurer Kimberly Yee to push Ward to resign. Ward was a staunch supporter of the audit and continues to question the results of the election despite Cyber Ninjas' findings.

"I think the time has come. She has now led us to a part where our former president has lost publicly the Arizona vote again to Joe Biden," Hickman said of Ward. "That is horrible and I will not stand for this type of leadership."

Arizona Governor Hits Back at Donald Trump Over Audit: 'No Decertification'

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has said there will be "no decertification" of the state's 2020 presidential election results following an audit in Maricopa County that was highly anticipated by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Ducey, who is a Republican, took to Twitter on Friday to say the election outcome would not be decertified and that the law did not allow for decertification despite demands from Trump.

The controversial audit found that President Joe Biden had won Maricopa county in line with the election results and three previous audits. It was conducted by Cyber Ninjas, a firm with no previous experience auditing elections.

Trump issued a statement on Friday calling on Arizona to decertify the election results.
