Evidently, you can get your yearly flu vaccine and Pfizer booster at the same time!

My Stop and Shop Pharmacy informed me when I called to check. Hubby got his two shots when he went for his yearly checkup. We have the same primary care doc but his waiting room is very small and always has too many people in it. That's not good for me.

What a relief that will be.

didn't get it because what if you have side effects, you won't know which shot caused them! We don't have anything but sore arms so now we'll have to get flu shots.

But I declined for the same reason.

Also, a qualifying question to get the booster was whether I'd had any other vaccine in the past 28 days.

Due to a cockup with the paperwork I got them about half an hour apart. Maybe the pharmacist forgetting to give me the paperwork for the flu shot was a blessing. I had no symptoms from the booster other than a sore arm. That's been the case with all three Pfizer shots. I slept mostly uninterrupted for about 12 hours.

Same here - just a mildly tender upper arm from covid injection.

But I declined flu shot at the same time.

If people want to get both shots on the same day and don't mind the wait maybe get the Covid shot first, and if there are no major side affects 15 minutes to a half and hour, get the Flu shot. Just a thought.

I'm going to let pfizer vax settle in a bit first before I get flu shot.

Did you sign up for vsafe again for booster? It occurred to md to do so last night & it is up & running for 3rd shot. Got text link today.

I'll have to do that. I'd had a vsafe check in for the original two shots the day before the booster. I got the booster six months to the day after my second shot.

Do you have sign up for vsafe again or is there a separate link for people getting the booster?

Eta: Never mind. I figured it out.

Great system!

When I signed up in Walgreens’s web site to get mine, it asked if I also wanted the flu and/or pneumonia vaccine at the same appointment.

I've got a special family event next weekend, so I'm trying to decide if I should get my booster (if available) early in the week, or after the party.

The special event is an outdoor birthday party for a grandson, so it's pretty much a can't-miss thing.

I'm selling a house, and I'm pretty sure the buyer wants to close as soon as the title work is done, and I want to do that too so I can quit worrying about it. I've felt that I have to check on it at least twice a day because it's unoccupied, and I just don't think I can do that if I felt as bad after the booster as I did after the second shot.

Every adult in my family is vaccinated, and I'm still adhering to all of the safety measures. Plus it'll be outside.

I'm thinking I'll probably get a COVID test at the end of this next week. My stupid ex-husband picked up some stuff last week from the property I'm selling, and he neglected to tell me that his stupid girlfriend's stupid unvaccinated adult son had just died from COVID. I didn't get close to him, but I just don't think I'll feel comfortable going to the birthday party without a test. I'm actually a bit apprehensive regardless. It'll have been 12 days since the jerk got his stuff by the time the party happens. I gave him a piece of my mind when I found out about the death, and he insisted he hadn't been around any of those people, but he's a known liar, so I have no reason to trust him.

Anyway, if the closing on that house takes place before Wednesday, I'll try to find a place where I can get my booster. That'll give me a couple of days to recover, just in case I get side effects again.

I would advise people NOT to get more than one shot at a time. I was told by the pharmacist it was fine to get the pneumonia and flu shots at the same time, and developed a 102 degree fever and extreme fatigue right after. I know each shot is different but I wouldn’t take any chances.

So I got the flu shot a few days ago, and then the Pfizer booster this morning. I got the flu and Pfizer shots in different arms, just in case.

So far, so good.

Had a slight reaction to the flu shot - sort of tired.

So far, nothing related to the Pfizer booster. But then I felt little to nothing from the first two Pfizer shots, other than a sore arm.

Hopefully this is it for a while.
