Panic buying rather than shortages causing queues at UK petrol stations...

Experienced this yesterday departing from London Heathrow yesterday, after about 7 stops at various petrol stations found one that had petrol..

Panic buying rather than supply chain issues is driving the shortage of fuel at some petrol stations in the UK, the president of a motoring association has said, amid continued reports of queues for fuel on Saturday.

Police urged drivers to be “sensible” about filling up at petrol stations after long queues built up.

to get the goods to market. The proposed quick fix is to get drivers from Europe.

Brexit visa rules complicate that, but the problems go deeper that. The sector is not attracting and retaining enough workers, while pay and working conditions are better in countries like France.

People are buying cases of water. The carts over flowing. I know some buy for organizations, but most of those are ordered. Huge increase in full baskets. The stores here have put rationing on several items.

I buy what I need when it is on sale. That is getting harder now.
