Romney: The Bludgeon Wedge for Cults, Theocrats, Dominionists like Palin

Random facts:

--> According to the Free Press, John McCain was forced to accept an unvetted Sarah Palin by Franklin Graham, in exchange for the votes of evangelicals.

--> Palin is a member of the New Apostolic Reform movement; a cult that seeks domination of governments at all levels for the purpose of establishing theocracy and dominion and driving out the demonism they believe to be rampant.

--> The New Apostolic Reform movement is established in all 50 states and has a growing presence in politics.

--> Katherine Harris is a member of this movement, incidentally.

--> Remember the video of the church members praying over Sarah Palin? That was part of this movement.

Questions:

--> Has Romney, himself a member of a religious cult, cut a deal with NAR movement members? If so, what has he offered to them? Billy Graham recently endorsed Romney and removed the page from the Graham web site listing Mormonism as a cult. What would Romney sell to dominionists and cultists and theocrats in exchange for their millions of votes?

We'd all better get up to speed on the possibilities of alliances Romney may have made.

In the old "Tidewater" southern culture, which includes the Lake Wales, FL set of which Harris is a part, "holy rollers" were always looked down upon. I have cousins on my colonial Wilmington planter side who used to hang out with the Bushes et al down there and it was very much the Episcopalian prep school culture. Our family had its own pew in St. James in Wilmington--we're not talking contemporary cool Episcopalians. This is 1928 prayer book stuff. Still, the idea of consorting with evangelical Baptists would have been horrifying to them, like wearing something from K-mart instead of Talbots to a mimosa brunch.

It's hard for me to conceive how much this has changed. I mean, these relatives were always the Southern Dems-turned-Republican (and led the famous 1898 Wilmington massacre) and still are Republican, but they'd see Sarah Palin as white trash. Professing your faith too loudly in this crowd is just tacky.

Ah, the easy categories of my youth.....

The users want power. It matters not how you get there because if you're there ipso-facto gawd wanted you there.

GREG PALAST: Well, two ways. And let’s bring in Paul Ryan, as well. Number one, Mitt Romney said, "Let Detroit go bankrupt." And everyone thought this was a great, principled position. And yeah, he wanted it to go bankrupt so that he could buy the auto parts division for literally pennies, 67 cents a share, then flip it for 30, 40 times that amount. In addition, don’t forget that this is TARP money. This is money that comes from the U.S. taxpayer.

And Paul "The Vulture" Singer became the number one donor also to a congressman named Paul Ryan. And it is, by the way, Singer, according to the Wall Street Journal, who forced Romney to accept Ryan as his running mate, in part because Paul Ryan, despite his speeches against TARP and against the bailouts, Paul Ryan voted for both the bank bailout and the auto bailout, very much enriching his number one donor. That’s—so that’s the politics of it, because also Romney has made Paul Singer a key economic adviser, and in addition, he’s considered the most important donor to the Mitt Romney campaign.
