McConnell won't rule out blocking Biden supreme court pick

At the end of a week in which Mitch McConnell refused to rule out blocking a Joe Biden supreme court pick if Republicans take the Senate next year, an expert said the court may have reached a “turning point” regarding public perception of its politicisation and need for reform.

Amy Coney Barrett says the supreme court aren’t ‘partisan hacks’. Oh really? | David Sirota
In an interview with Politico, the Senate minority leader was asked if he would “mount a blockade” should a vacancy arise with Republicans holding the Senate and Democrats the White House.

McConnell famously did just that in 2016, when he denied a hearing to Merrick Garland, Barack Obama’s pick to replace the late conservative justice Antonin Scalia. That held open a seat eventually filled by Neil Gorsuch, the first of three conservatives installed under Donald Trump.

“Cross those bridges when I get there, we are focusing on 22,” McConnell told Politico, referring to the midterm elections in a variation on a theme with which he has already infuriated liberals, saying it was “highly unlikely” he would let Biden confirm a justice in 2024, the year of the next presidential contest.

“I don’t rule anything in or out about how to handle nominations if I’m in the majority position,” McConnell said.

The first time he wants something that Democrats would filibuster, the filibuster will end. There won't be much debate if Republicans decided to end the filibuster; it will end quickly.

What laws and rules did Lyndon Johnson break as a senator or president, how did that illegal behavior benefit the nation, and how do you think emulating that illegal behavior today would benefit the nation under our current circumstances.

Please be specific.

* It is time for Justice Breyer to retire. We need to take that seat out of play.

* Do a real investigation into Brett Kavanaugh and if if he perjured himself in his confirmation hearings
give him a choice of retiring or having public hearings and then being impeached. We saw him crack like
a walnut in the last hearings and that was with a republican majority too. Bring in pictures of Dr. Ford's
house w/2 doors because she was so traumatized by Kavanaugh's attack and lived in fear of being trapped
again.

* Call out and deal with "The Judicial Crisis Network x" as the domestic political terrorist organization that
they are because their job is to pack the courts to maintain republican power despite the GOP becoming
more and more of a minority party.

X The Judicial Crisis Network (JCN), formerly known as the Judicial Confirmation Network, is an American conservative advocacy organization based in the United States. Its president is Carrie Severino, a former law clerk for Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas.[1] In 2020, the Center for Responsive Politics described JCN as having "unmatched influence in recent years in shaping the federal judiciary." from wiki

* Hope for nature to takes is course on Thomas (he is a very old 73) and Chief Justice Roberts (he has some kind of organic
brain or nerve disease ... I think)

* Crush the GOP in 2022 make them defend the preventable deaths of > 750,000 from C-19, Donald "the traitor" Trump
unAmerican actions (all the time knowing that 30% + of Americans will still love him and his racism), show all the
good things that President Joe has done or the American people, and fight for and protect every last vote.

* Show to all women and those who love 'em that the GOP wants to take away their own person rights to their own bodies.

He figures why give ammunition to those who oppose him.

Plus by refusing to rule it out, it puts pressure on the liberal justices to hang on just a little while longer.

Which means that their exit from the court would be closer in time to a republican President. Whenever that might me.
