I actually didn't feel a thing. In fact, my paranoid mind is wondering if the pharmacist actually gave me the shot, or just pretended to give me the shot.
Very easy process. Registered online Friday night. No paperwork to fill out at the pharmacy. About a 10 minute wait. All employees had masks on.
It wasn't crowded, but all of the customers who were in there were maskless, except for the high school teacher who was in line with me. She also got a flu shot at the same time.
Right now, other than spoons sticking to my body, I'm fine.
Best Regards,

(8,445 posts)I'm a little bit concerned about when to get mine, just in case there are side effects. I felt pretty crappy after my second shot, but just for a day.

(17,425 posts)I also had a sore arm immediately after I received that shot.
No sore arm today, yet. It's been about 90 minutes since the shot.
I'll post if I get a reaction.
Have a good day!

(17,425 posts)It is now about 22 hours after the booster.
After the first 12 hours had passed, arm stiffness was prominent. Then chills. Chills are gone now, but I have full body muscle aches.
So far, reaction is not terrible. Able to get out of bed and sit at my desk and type this. I'd say this might be a hair worse than my reaction to the second shot, but it is nothing intolerable.
My mood is good, and the positive feeling of getting the booster far outweighs the relatively mild symptoms, so if you want to use my reaction as an example, I would tell you to have no fear at all of the booster.
Everyone reacts differently of course. Some have reactions worse than me, and some have no reaction at all.
Good luck!
PS...My booster received yesterday was about 6.5 months after my second Pfizer dose.

(8,445 posts)I'm not actually afraid about the possible side effects. I just need to schedule them into my life so I feel okay for the two things I've got going on in the next week.
We're on about the same schedule. I got my second Pfizer dose on March 15th, so if I can get the booster at the beginning of next week, it'll also be about 6 1/2 months.
I appreciate your update, and am glad you're doing relatively well.

(17,425 posts)I'm actually starting to feel just a bit better from when I typed my response to you about 3 hours ago.
We're close on our 2nd shots...mine was on March 13.

(8,445 posts)My realtor called while I was in the pharmacy to tell me the buyer of a house I'm selling wants to close tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to drag myself to the title company's office to do that. I'll have to feel very bad to not keep that appointment. I'm SO eager to get that house out of my life.
I spoke too soon when I said I was better. If I had been able to sleep all day yesterday, I'm sure I would have done better. The fatigue was unlike I've ever experienced in my life. I was also somewhat nauseous all day. The only food I ate was a couple of bites of potatoes. I hope today is better. I just ate a banana, so at least that's something. I have no appetite at all.

(17,425 posts)I'm kinda getting a sick feeling this morning myself. Feel like I'm going to heave. This is the third day from the booster, so I don't know if it's from that, or something else.
Feel better.

(8,445 posts)That's the way I was with the second shot. I felt bad from 2 a.m. until noon the next day. Then I was great. Then a few days later I didn't feel very good, but it was nothing like that first day.
I'm going to give oatmeal a shot, but it's not looking too appetizing.
I hope you're okay!
In spite of the discomfort, I'm glad it's done. (At least until we need shot #4. )

(17,425 posts)I had Pfizer, my wife had Moderna and she is about 8 months in after her second shot, so I am anxious for the Moderna booster to get approved. But I've read in a few places that the Moderna anti-bodies last longer than Pfizer? I don't know...
Best wishes and good luck!

(8,445 posts)I seem to recall, though, that the side effects from the second dose didn't really hit me until a couple of days after the shot.
I should really keep a medical diary about these things. I guess I'm at "that age".

(17,425 posts)I'll turn 63 in a few weeks, but I had enough pre-existing conditions that were on the registration form that enabled me to get the booster now.
Pissed me off though...I got my very first wrinkle on my face a few weeks ago, and it startled me so much that I decided to grow my beard back to hide it. Had a beautiful (according to my wife) bright white beard going (but my hair is still salt and pepper) and I had to shave it off yesterday morning to get a good mask fit!
Two doctors appointment coming up this Friday, then the beard is coming back!
That's my complaint. First world problems at their finest!

(8,445 posts)I wish I only had one wrinkle, but they're mostly from laughing, so that's ok. I'd rather have some laugh lines than have lived a life in which I always had a sour attitude.
I have a hard time believing that I just turned 60 seven years ago . I still feel great. The only difference I've really noticed is that I don't have much of a grip anymore. It's annoying to have to call a grandson to come over and tighten or loosen something for me. I got one of those grip exercise things, but I keep forgetting to use it.

(8,445 posts)I was actually pretty miserable after the second dose. I remember thinking that it was a good thing I didn't know what was coming ahead of time, but of course I'd have gotten it regardless because I'm not an idiot.

(9,067 posts)...not real side effects. Slight sore arm.
Appointment at CVS. No line, no problem.

(8,445 posts)In my case I think it's better to do these one at a time so I'll know what's causing side effects.

(5,007 posts)until the end of this month. I tried to schedule for first week of October but the CVS website would not allow it. I have to wait until Im past the six months to make the appointment. They ask the date of the second shot.

(65,010 posts)Picking up my wife's Rx.
About 8 customers, including me.
7 were masked, & all staff. Everybody masked was wearing them correctly, too.
Guy came in with his older parents. He looked early 50s, so I'm guessing his parents were about 80. (Clearly older than me, & I'm 65.)
They were there for boosters. He asked about one for himself, but they told him they couldn't because it's only been 5 months since his Pfizer #2, and he's not over 64. But, they said if it were the 6-8 months, they'd probably do it. So, he said he'd come back in early November.
My wife's stuff wasn't ready so I sat there for 5 minutes. Both of the parents got the shots in that amount of time!
They sat down to wait the 15 minutes while the son went to the grocery store a couple hundred feet away. I left right after that.
But, it was quick & efficient for them.
They only do Pfizer there, so my wife will get her booster next month. I need to go somewhere doing Moderna, assuming the booster gets authorized.

(8,445 posts)All of the employees were.
I would wear a mask even if I was 100% sure that I wouldn't get sick. It's out of respect for the employees. I think that if we could get all of the idiots to mask up, we wouldn't be having shortages in staff like we do. I would happily work in an environment where I knew I'd be a safe as possible. People can say, "I've been vaccinated" until they're blue in the face, but there's no way to know if they're telling the truth.

(8,445 posts)I woke up at midnight not feeling good, and then it got progressively worse. It started with chills, and then a horrible headache.
The good news is that about an hour and a half ago I started getting a whole lot better, and now, other than being tired, I am not doing bad at all.
So, with the second shot, I had side effects for slightly more than 10 hours, and this time it was a little over six. As uncomfortable as I was, I don't think it was nearly as bad as last time. I won't hesitate to get the next booster.
