I had so many comebacks on the tip of my tongue.

"I haven't spoken to Margaret Thatcher. Very few would admit it if they did."

Or, "maybe America hasn't had a female leader yet because the American voters are so dumb about world events and just about everything else outside of Monday football."

2. Gotta wonder why kind of reporter doesn't know that Thatcher has been dead for some time now...

I wish Anderson had gently told the reporter of this fact...

At any rate, the best Margaret Thatcher hands down was Meryl Streep. She got an Oscar for her portrayal and whenever I think of Thatcher, I think of Streep's portrayal of her...

And tittering ensued. i remember how it was when I covered this stuff (years ago). If you were asking a question, you did NOT want to reveal yourself as being ignorant. Everybody else in the room knew who you were and they'd all be talking and laughing at you behind your back, and your credibility would have just waltzed down the throat of the closest porcelain facility. And - as we see here - somebody made sure to save a clip - if for no other reason than the end-of-the-year in-house party gag reel.

I never could stand Thatcher, so I was happy to see
Anderson make her look so horrible.

Its hard to imagine such a great actress not researching the person she was playing.
