(102,104 posts)1. From the vantage point & perspective of what we've gone through, it is hard for me to put Merkel
in the same "league" as a Reagan or Thatcher. Of course, we've lived with total insanity and I'd have traded almost anything to have someone as seemingly competent as Merkel in charge in the US.
So, are those who view Merkel with admiration off base?

By the way I too like Merkel, but she was the leader of the Christian Democratic Union.
