During WWII, the Japanese military waterboarded captured American members of the military, and the Japanese responsible for the waterboarding were prosecuted by the U.S federal government for the crime of torture. They were found guilty, and executed by hanging.
I assume Liz has to lie to protect her father.

(16,843 posts)The movie is funny in some parts, but it does explain how Dick Cheney became so powerful as a mere VP. The movie touches on Liz's start in politics. She was against marriage equality even though her sister is a lesbian and is in a relationship, although I'm not sure whether she's married or not. Anybody who would speak out against GLBT equality when her own sister is lesbian is not a good person, regardless of her involvement in the 1/6 Committee. Besides, it should be obvious to everyone that every move the woman makes is a calculation for obtaining more power
mentioned Cheney's sister is now married with children, and that she voted against marriage equality.
Liz fessed up that she was wrong. Ya think?
