(28,946 posts)There was one early voting site open starting Oct. 9--on Lomas. If you received the list of sites, look at it carefully and you'll find it.
I'm near 12th and Menaul, so it didn't take long to get there.

(28,946 posts)While I was there this guy got all huffy about one of the workers having a Martin Heinrich shirt under her jacket. The name was cut off on both sides and was impossible to read. People get so fucking idiotic about things that will NEVER influence anyone. Also, this lady blurted out that there should be a law about checking ID's. Never mind they ask you your name and for you to confirm your address, date of birth and to sign your name.

(24,128 posts)I've never had an unpleasant experience voting in ABQ, thank goodness, but that's probably because my district is heavily Dem and I'm a registered Dem.
They always seem happy to see me and everyone else. "Hey, how's it going? Thanks for coming!" etc.
As for the woman you reference...? WTH? Yes. You are on a list of registered voters: your name, your address, your date of birth, your signature. Sounds like some kind of tinfoil hattery on her part.
As for the Martin shirt...GO MARTIN !!!

(24,128 posts)I remember loving the "Chicana for Obama" bumper stickers in 2008, and I don't think much has changed even though many of us are still hurting financially. Things are a bit better. We were one of the last states to be affected by the Great Recession, and we are one of the last states to come out of it.

(7,570 posts)It was about 2:30 in the afternoon on the first day of early voting at the Coors location, and I counted a little over 500 ballots processed on the two machines at the front when we left.
The workers there (who were very nice, by the way), reported that it had been an unusually busy first day, so that bodes well for us. Plus the fact that we saw several Obama stickers in the parking lot and NO Romneys.

(711 posts)husband and I were there bright and early! My sister was there the same day in the afternoon and said there were long lines! I'm gonna take her next week - early! I've also been bugging everyone I know who supports Obama to get out and vote! My 88 yo mother-in-law mailed in her ballot on Friday - she's supporting Obama this time! Her son worked on her to change her mind!

(36,444 posts)I posted my mail-in ballot last week.
Then I received a second ballot in the mail due to a single word discrepancy:
"Shall the ordinance relating to Additional City Government Meeting and Records Regulations be Adopted? The previous language on the ballot started this sentence with "Will an ordinance ".
The vote-by-mail ballot that arrived earlier this week should be discarded. If a voter has already cast their vote-by-mail ballot, they should complete the new ballot and send it to the Registrar of Voters office.
If a voter inadvertently sends the vote-by-mail ballot with the old wording, the ballot will still be counted after the system determines only one vote-by-mail ballot has been returned.
"This new and corrected ballot has been flagged by our system to ensure only one ballot per vote-by-mail voter is counted," said Deputy Registrar of Voters.

(2,145 posts)voted about 2 weeks ago in South Dakota. We have in person early voting at the courthouses. I love early voting. It was the day after the first debate. The courthouse was busy while we were there with people voting. We hoped that it meant Obama voters were getting out.

(5,167 posts)Voted only for Dems.
Skipped my congressional district vote because 1. the Dem candidate is some sort of ruse - hasn't campaigned at all. The Republican is actually a decent man and will win handily, but I couldn't bring myself to further the Repub majority, so left it blank. (This is Jean Schmidt's district - she was defeated in the primary.)

How did I vote? Of the six state-wide proposals, I voted "yes" on one of them. So, roughly 16% support.
