Hey everyone,
I am participating in an online research study, sponsored by IARPA (the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity), and I thought you might be interested in signing up, too. The study is called Forecasting World Events, and it involves making predictions about current issues that you select from various categories, like international relations, global politics, economics, business, and other topic areas. Once you sign up at the website, they will send you a background questionnaire, then after you complete the questionnaire, they will send you an e-mail to let you know if you have been selected. The questionnaire only takes about 20 minutes, and the prediction study itself is really interesting.
Here is the link to register:
I thought some of the prognosticators here might enjoy going on the record with their predictions.

(146,317 posts)I'm using a different name over there, though. I like to keep things separate.
The questions are more international than I expected, but I'll participate to some extent, in areas I know well.

(6,249 posts)I signed up and answered the questions. I'm sure there is a for-profit analytics company running it, but it seems like a fun time-waster.

WHAT IS IARPA?
The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) invests in high-risk/high-payoff research programs that have the potential to provide our nation with an overwhelming intelligence advantage over future adversaries.
Also, note the link "ODNI" in the bottom left-hand corner....
