The press has a duty to tell this story.

This kind of framing of the Supreme Court largely absolves Mitch McConnell, his allies, the justices, and their unprecedented actions. There is a cause and effect and these are the central players in the drama. The press has a duty to tell this story.

Of course public approval of SCOTUS has been eroded...
MAGA Trump far right cray cray in control of the court, through a programme of delaying, lying and cheating by McConnell. People aren't stupid. The court is now a partisan vehicle of the far right and McConnell should proudly own that. He has worked very hard to smash the third branch and build it back in his own fascist likeness. As the court makes more and more far right theocratic decisions that fly in the face of democracy, and in direct contradiction to the wishes of the American people who voted overwhelmingly for NOT THAT. Next election everyone needs to be reminded that SCOTUS is now a partisan vehicle of the far right because the far right appointed Trumpy's have made it so, constitution be damned, and that as rights are eroded McConnell enabled them. Horror shit show. MSM needs to do its job better.

... what is and is not fair? You? Me? Nope. The Richet wing will howl all the louder about being oppressed by the leftist MSM.

For example, the "fairness doctrine" being pushed by the TX governor. Welcome TFG back to Facebook and Twitter.

as I understand it (and I misunderstand many things) is that it applied to entities that used the public frequencies allocated for broadcast TV and radio. Most people get their news and opinion now from digital screens and cable news, and the doctrine doesn't apply to them. I'm sure it would help a bit, but the extremists don't watch or listen to the "MSM", except for AM hate radio, and any alternative opinions expressed there would be dismissed out of hand.

Yet, every day, we see references to this and that seen on main stream media by DU members. It’s baffling.

anyone on the right. Don't misunderstand, I value Wa Po. Always have. A piece here and there for something that deserves way more attention, at this point in time, serves us poorly as a nation. It warrants serious national discussion if that's possible anymore.

from the Federalist Society? Why, yes they were along with three more, Supreme Court Justices with Federalist Society ties: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, John Roberts, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett. But it’s a politically neutral group… right…give me an effing break.

People aren't stupid.

People are stupid. In large numbers. The systematic dumbing down of America has been successful beyond the GOP's wildest dreams. We wouldn't be in this mess otherwise.
