(13,903 posts)there is a combination right out of a novel. Hell, I didn't even know guys competed in barrel racing. I thought that was the ladies rodeo event.

(63,771 posts)Perhaps "outdoor" is what is meant here? Put the words (and champion barrel racer) in parentheses. There, that's better...

(8,936 posts)Glanced at his instagram. He's an interesting duck.
His photography seems to be where he gets his popularity. He does women of all shapes and sizes, and works with breast cancer survivors and things, making them feel sexy.
Seems like a good egg. A good, odd egg.

(63,771 posts)What you wrote about his photography should be somewhat expanded, if space is available. I would be interested in writing more about him!

As well as other parts of his life.

(63,771 posts)I am finishing up my second book, "The Gladdened Heart: the ART of music," which examines how artists over the centuries have tried to portray what is invisible: sound, or more particularly music. One cool way, developed by the Church, was to treat music as St. Cecilia (and even into the 20th century with Paul Simon's "Cecilia" . But that was only a part of musical art. One of my favorites is Artemesia Gentileschi's "Woman Tuning a Lute" from the 1600s in Italy. Later the guitar was romanticized, its structure changed and became a very popular instrument to display. I finish the book with Roy DeCarava's wonderful "no flash" photography of some great Harlem Renaissance musicians playing in clubs (Coltrane on Sax is one). I'll make some copies available to DUers for free when it is done.

(3,334 posts)He should be allowed to keep it. He admits he broke the law but sometimes you have to break a law to do the right thing.

(3,334 posts)I am not saying that I want people to break laws that hurt other people but we do have that choice. There are laws that need to be broken to bring them to the attention of everyone and hope by doing it will end that law. A doctor in Texas broke the abortion law and let everyone know he did.
