I don't have a lot of enthusiasm for kicking the plug out of the wall, but I'd opt to defund Fox in a heartbeat, even if I had to pay.

(42,862 posts)... we cut the cable and we only stream what we watch on the television. Occasionally we'll use the Roku apps for NBC news, CBSN, and ABC news (if needed) and we can pull-in local channels over the air (but rarely do we choose to do that unless there's a storm approaching).
With our high-speed Fios + the subscriptions for Netflix, HBO, Show, Hulu, Britbox, Peacock, Amazon and Philo... we have MORE TV and Movies than we can ever watch.
AND IT STILL COSTS LESS THAN CABLE.

(11,830 posts)Getting ready to leave cable behind because we simply don't watch enough TV to justify paying for it.

(42,862 posts)... yes with commercials, but the "on-demand" options make it so easy to watch what and when we want.
I think cable-tv (as we currently know it) is in its death throes.

But I dont want any of my money going to Fox.

50 channels of your choice for this amount. I would definitely NOT have Fox in my line up.

(22,353 posts)You would still be paying for it, but their audience would be diminished in the all-important ratings, which determine advertizing rates

(38,309 posts)We quit broadcast television a little later.
We never run out of stuff to watch and best of all -- NO COMMERCIALS!
Mostly we watch Netflix which is $8.99 a month.
Conversing with my adult children, nephews, and nieces it seems that cable and broadcast television doesn't exist in their universe.
I think traditional television is trying to squeeze more and more from a diminishing population of viewers, in terms of subscription costs, and in eyeballs for their advertising.

(36,745 posts)Dishs Flex Pack.
It has most of the cable stuff and only CNN.
They have a Flex Pack news add on package that has MSNBC
but then you get stuck with Faux.
