They can't govern asked John King on CNN this morning.
Nothing about the fact that Republicans do nothing except lie.
About everything.

(1,969 posts)If they cannot pass a bipartisan infrastructure bill, then yes, they are dysfunctional and are incapable of governing effectively.

(2,868 posts)Recently, eleven Senate Dems revealed that they only voted for the so-called 'bipartisan' infrastructure bill with the understanding and agreement that it and the reconciliation bill were one package, otherwise they would have voted against.

(1,969 posts)And B? Why have a giant Omnibill. Just break the bill up into its components and have the republicans (And apparently some democrats) vote against preschools or expanding medicare for eye and dental.
It isn't even really a 3.5 trillion dollar bill since it is over 10 years.
And we are not being sold on what is in it at all.
Why should I support a giant spending bill that so far has not told me what it does or what is in it? Sell the bill (and sizzle) then pass the bill on its merits.
I am in general in favor of it because I trust the democratic leadership to do more good than harm, but they really need to try to get a least a little bit of popular support.

(2,868 posts)Because it's leverage.
Machin has been running around his state, and doing interviews with media going back to WV, bragging about what he'll be bringing back to the state.
Even Moscow Mitch is bragging to constituents about what he's bringing back to KY, even though the GQP is whipping against the bills.
If you're willing to take the position that nobody gets nothing, it concentrates the mind.

(68,347 posts)want to know who wants to vote against this bill taking names of those I will never support in any primary or donate to either...loyalty counts. You get what you can, win the midterm, and then come back for more.

(2,868 posts)It's a corporate Repub bill. I already showed you weren't aware what was in, and what was not, in the bill:
