I got a call here in NM and really appreciate it! If you didn't get a call we really should start focusing on improving the get out the vote in those areas.

(5,811 posts)However, on GFriday did receieve a call from a mittnocchio superpac called something like Americans for Leadership. They asked me if I was voting for Romney. I said no, I do not vote for racists or birthers. The young lady thanked me and hung up.

(3,333 posts)I know which library to go to on Monday to cast my ballot, and will do so as that is the earliest I can vote.

It informed me that "according to our records, you have not yet voted" and that there was an "early voting location just around the corner from my house". It then proceeded to give me directions to the nearest early voting location.
Given that early voting started TODAY (the 20th), I'm hard-pressed to grasp why they were concerned yesterday that I hadn't voted YET.
I sent them a note last night and suggested they check their calendar before starting robocalls telling voters they "have not voted yet". I understand their concern and appreciate their thoroughness - but it was disconcerting to hear that I was tardy in voting . . .
*I did vote today - it was mercifully uncrowded an hour after opening - maybe 30 people when I got in line, but pretty consistent in maintaining that number.
Combined with an unusually short ballot - only two referendum and a dozen or so judges in addition to the national race - it took 10 minutes.

There are no signs for any candidate. So far I have seen one sticker on one car.

(7,624 posts)Actually, we're still pushing vote by mail, with early voting as the second choice. It's particularly important in Florida because there are 11 constitutional amendments on the ballot and we're expecting long, slow-moving lines on election day.
