Today, after just a few precious days of snuggling my youngest daughter, and my perfect grandson for the first time. Just after they arrived from Europe after a too many long years, I was called by a Covid contact tracer.
You can guess what she told me.
So now, after using my best cooking skills and granddaddy funny face who makes baby laugh with tickly toes, I'm stopped in getting too close.
I know the risks. I will get tested tomorrow. And already have an appointment with doc on Wed. I'm sure there will be a booster in my future because of my overly young old age.
Anyway. I'm so angry at everyone, on the anti-life "right", right now!
Also, anyone have a nail spittoon I can use for a bit now?

(10,828 posts)Last week, I held my 16-month old granddaughter (first grand baby) for the very first time. The Covid lockdown last year prevented us from visiting. Now we've moved in-state and with proof of vaccination, mask and temp check, I was able to enter the rehab facility where she's been for several months.
I would have been crushed if that visit had been denied. Or, if I'd been in your situation and had an unexpected call from a contact tracer at the last moment.
The anger is fully justified, x1000. This virus could have been contained months ago but for the selfishness and stupidity of the Trump death cult.
Hope you quickly get a clean test. Then get back to those grand babies!
