be President and deserves so much better recognition then he's ever gotten from his time in the Whitehouse.

carter was back stabbed by the cia and the army. he is blamed for economic malfeasance on nixon's part and for opec problems that began before his term. he is hated for embracing environmentalism.

i consider the late 1970s to be a golden age, the best years of my life.

... was demonized by evangelicals like Jerry Falwell and his ilk, who endorsed Reagan instead.

Even considering the taxation of religious organizations, as Carter did, made him an outcast to them.
