It would appear to me that the Republicans are attempting to push us into a revolution.

We are indeed in a Constitutional crises. The Republicans are using States Rights and their control to create a crisis that if upheld by the Republican dominated Supreme Court will leave Democrats and liberal leaning Independents little recourse except rebellion. If they fail to be challenged is this the way Republics die? I never thought that in my 80 plus years that I would ever see this happening. It appears that we are experiencing the same fate of Germany and are headed for a massive disaster. I hope that it can be halted before it becomes a reality.

But I am not sure there are enough of us. And of those who take the Republicans seriously when they talk of civil war and ending democracy, there are probably a lot (like me) that only started to take it seriously in the past couple years.

Liberals have guns. Especially in hunting states. They know how to use them too.

Mr Lake is no weenie either. He had nine guns he sold before moving. They all worked.

... opposing gangs battling over the same turf.

And the following probably won't happen either, but it's clear to me that many Trump supporters want it to happen:

To really gain control, they'd need the full force of our military. The first step to accomplish that in Nazi Germany was to declare that any criticism of Hitler or the Nazis was illegal. Then the right-wing authoritarian Hitler-supporters were all too willing to report any "treasonous" behavior or language of their neighbors, who would be taken away by government agents. Other neighbors would witness it, and thereby learned to keep their mouths shut.

Our USA military are likewise obligated to follow the laws of this country, and they'd either carry out their orders to punish the anti-fascists for their "treason" or face severe consequences themselves.

Edit: One of Trump's main complaints was freedom of speech/press, wanting to shut down the New York Times or whatever group he viewed as ever critical of him.

a few of the saner ones realize that there'd be crosshairs on their backs, too.

And this wouldn't be like trying to stop an army at Bull Run, it'd be like trying to stop the guy from two streets over. Or one street over. Or next door.

Look around at the number of civilian casualties. And see the destruction to our democracy and country.

... want to lead by force.

Not to mention that feelings of insecurity among the populace has tended to benefit them in the past -- e.g., more people become violent, become more prone to believing conspiracy theories, etc.

In the end the SCOTUS will not destroy democracy. Nor will the military.

Little by little they are literally dying off. Through death or transition. Liz Cheney is not our friend but is an ally. If it’s bite by bite we will survive.

Mostly trumpers are all show and bravado.

I can only hope that the Supreme Court will declare these laws that can nullify the results of an election unconstitutional. It is unbelievable that if they don't like the outcome they can throw the results and declare that they have won. I could have never imagined this could actually be put into to law by some of the states. If the Supreme Court does not declare these laws void then what can be the recourse except armed rebellion?
