We haven't had a good Jeopardy thread in awhile...

Some of you may be relieved However, I just can't resist.

The new season has started with a a new co-host. I think she's doing great.

And what about the new champion, Matt? Like his personality and he looks like he's becoming one of the greats. He's fun to watch.

But I lied. I watched last night. He’s so good. And it’s sooo sad to see the other contestants try to keep up.

There have been some good ones too, but it was just their bad luck to come up against Matt.

I'm tired of how he predictably goes after the $1000 clues on the first round, I:m tired of his smug facial expressions, and I am really tired of how he won't say "who is". Twice he has answered "what's Parton", instead of "who is Dolly Parton"?

But what I most dislike is this trend of two contestants being demoralized by the end of the first round. Who wants to watch that? It's not fun. Jeopardy has a problem on its hands with these people with big winning streaks. I used to watch to play along. Now I am just watching a quick fingered person hopping around the board trying to amass money. Maybe a metaphor for society, the discrepancy between the have and have nots.

Don't feel that way with Matt for some reason. To me, he seems more self-deprecating, not smug.

I just don't like this trend. It takes me out of the game, since I like to play along and when they category hop so much, I am not always on top of which category he jumped to, since it's not on the screen.

The "what" instead of "who" is not very endearing, though.

He comes up with the most obscure responses. I keep saying, "How did he know that!"

He is an amazing player. When he loses, it will be because he beats himself, in my opinion.

People may or may not like his mannerisms (and I admit to disliking some people who are very popular here on DU), but his knowledge and ability as a player are not debatable.

I knew there was a reason I liked this guy. He's not a morning person. Liked his story about Red Bull and filming from seven am to eight pm every day. The whole feature was great, including the TMZ stuff. Like me, pop culture is his weakness. Thanks again, Malaise.

The game is to win and it takes brains to do it. He's brilliant, after 4 years of Trump and his idiocy you'd think people with his kind of knowledge would be celebrated, I'm not tired of seeing someone that studied his entire life be rewarded for it.

I don't like his smirk, and I don't like his shorthand answers. I have also begun to notice he starts saying his next category before the host even finishes supplying the full answer, as in "Yes, who is Dolly Parton."
Thanks for posting, i thought I was the only one.
